Problems with Knobs and Temperature
One common Viking appliance problem is knobs falling off or the grill and smoker not getting up to the correct temperatures. This has caused a lot of Viking customers to be very angry. The customers have said that when they called Viking grill repair they were put on hold for 45 minutes before a manager came on the phone and spoke with them directly. The manager then ordered a repair man out to the customer’s house, but soon after the repair was made, the grill and smoker was acting up again. Another small incident that Viking appliance is notorious for is the knobs on their appliances tend to not stay in place.
Circuit Board Issues
Customers have said in some cases that Viking appliance repair was not worth their time and they will be getting a different brand for their next smoker and grill. They have said that they have had problems with the main circuit board which was expensive to replace. The customers with the main circuit board problems said that when they called Viking about their issue they were told that they would have to buy the part and have a repair man put it in correctly for the appliance to work. This part was so expensive, this customer decided it was not worth it and went out and bought a new grill for almost the same price of buying the replacement part and hiring the repair man to put it in.
Another customer bought a gas grill from Viking and said that when she was cooking on low or any other temperature, she could not leave the hood of the grill down or it would cause a fire. The hood of this particular grill was down while on low for 30 minutes and the knobs blew off of it and the hood flew open, thank goodness no one was in front of the grill when this happened. The customer said that the oil dripping pan was also poorly designed in a “v” shape with small holes that chunks of hard grease could not get through so they had to clean the tray after every use.

Viking appliance repair is one of the major things that the company has going for them. Customers on the forums say that Viking makes most of its money from the parts you have to buy to fix your appliances that were cheaply built in the first place. They also said that they expected to get a high quality grill for the price that they paid but they got a grill that seemed cheaply made. The customers have said that after one repair if they needed to do another, they would not do it because buying a new grill or smoker would be cheaper than getting another part and having the grill or smoker fixed again.
